Competitors turned out in bumper numbers for the 2011 running of Thunder in the Park over the weekend, however Sunday’s horrible weather claimed more than its fair share of victims as competitors tip-toed their way around a slippery and treacherous Pukekohe Park Raceway.
Pre-event testing and Saturday’s qualifying sessions and opening races were held in fine conditions, but as Sunday dawned so did a spell of heavy rain that refused to let up until the very end of race day. Read More >>

The New Zealand motorsport calendar’s largest annual entry card is expected at Pukekohe Park Raceway this weekend for the annual ‘Thunder in the Park’ spectacular, and one machine that epitomises the high horsepower event is the Chesters Plumbing & Bathrooms Holden V8 Supercar.
Owned and piloted by Nick Chester, the VZ Commodore started its life as a Team Dynamik project for the V8 Supercar Championship, but the intrusion of the credit crunch meant the build was shelved before it was ever able to hit the track.
